About Us

Welcome to Troop 707

Out troop is chartered by the Brea Rotary Club and meets on Sunday night at the Brea Scout House on Brea Blvd. adjacent to the Brea Plunge.  Our troop is composed of boys between the ages of 11 to 18 years old.

BSA Mission Statement

The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law. contains further information on the Scouting Program.

Youth Leadership

Our troop is committed in helping our youth become responsible adults and citizens.  This is done through rank advancement, camping, service projects and leadership positions.  The youth leaders are elected by their peers and are responsible for the planning and execution of the outings and activities they want to do.  Youth leaders meet in the PLC meetings once a month to plan the specifics of their outings and meetings.

Adult Leadership

The adult leadership is composed of parents of current and former scouts of our troop.  Our leaders are in charge of driving, finances, mentoring and encouraging the boys to take full advantage of what the Scouting program offers.  Every registered Scout must have a registered adult with them who is a member of the Troop Committee, meetings are held once a month.  Participating in the troop committee gives the parents an opportunity to help guide the youth, make friendships and provide a positive example to their boys.

As Scoutmaster of Troop 707 it is my goal that the boys experience as much of the BSA program as possible. Many of the skills I learned as a youth in Scouting, I have used most of my life in school and in work.  Things like planning, organizing, leadership and public speaking are lifelong skills that I still use daily in and out of Scouting.

I am very fortunate that our troop has a talented and dedicated group of leaders with the goal of helping our boys grow and learn.  We are very fortunate that many of our parents volunteer their time and share their knowledge and skills to help the boys in our troop.

Best regards,

Rafael Garcia
